Privacy & Cookies
How TechSnyper collects, uses and protects your information, and how we use cookies on this site.
This policy explains what personal data TechSnyper collects when you use this website, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law. Last updated: 24 June 2026.
1. Who we are
TechSnyper ("we", "us", "our") operates techsnyper.com. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this site. If you have any questions about this policy or want to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@techsnyper.com or via the contact page.
2. What information we collect
Information you give us:
- Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message.
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address.
Information we collect automatically when you visit the site:
- Standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring page and the pages you view.
- Analytics data via Google Analytics (see the Cookies section below).
- Limited security data from Cloudflare Turnstile when you submit the contact form, used to tell humans from bots.
We do not knowingly collect special category data and the site is not directed at children under 13.
3. Why we use your information and our lawful basis
Under UK GDPR we only process personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so:
- To respond to contact-form enquiries — legitimate interests (responding to people who contact us) and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To send newsletter emails — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- To operate, secure and improve the site, including analytics and abuse prevention — legitimate interests, and your consent for non-essential cookies where required.
- To comply with legal obligations where they apply to us.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers ("processors") who help us run the site, and only to the extent needed for them to provide that service:
- Our hosting and database provider, which runs the application and stores its data.
- Our email delivery provider, used to send transactional emails and to deliver contact-form notifications to us.
- Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) for website analytics.
- Cloudflare, for the Turnstile anti-bot widget on the contact form and related network services.
We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or transfers to countries the UK has deemed to provide an adequate level of protection.
6. How long we keep it
UK data protection law does not set fixed retention periods — we are required to keep personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purposes we collected it for. In practice:
- Contact-form submissions: kept while we deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable follow-up period afterwards (typically up to 24 months from the last correspondence), unless we need to keep them longer to handle a legal claim.
- Newsletter subscribers: kept until you unsubscribe. After you unsubscribe we keep your email on a suppression list so we do not accidentally email you again.
- Server, security and access logs: kept for a short period (typically 30–90 days) for security, debugging and abuse prevention.
- Analytics data: retained according to the configured retention period in Google Analytics.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Ask us to delete your data (the "right to erasure"), in certain circumstances.
- Ask us to restrict or object to how we use your data.
- Receive certain data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent (this does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal).
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@techsnyper.com. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns first.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. We use the following categories of cookie on this site:
Strictly necessary (always on):
- Theme preference — remembers whether you have selected light or dark mode.
- Admin session cookies — keep signed-in administrators logged into the back office. These are not set for ordinary visitors.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — used on the contact form to distinguish humans from bots.
Analytics (used with your consent where required):
- Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) — helps us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Google Analytics may set additional cookies; details are in Google's own privacy documentation.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers also let you block cookies entirely, although some parts of the site may not work properly if you do. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including transport encryption (HTTPS), access controls and row-level security on user-facing database tables. No system is ever completely secure — if you believe you have found a security issue, please see our Trust & Security page for how to report it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
11. Contact
If you have any questions about this policy, want to exercise your rights, or would like to make a complaint, please email hello@techsnyper.com or use the contact form on the contact page.
